History
The Gawler ranges community and its progress association has no settlement but represents some 20 pastoral families living between Iron Knob to the east and Hiltaba and Lake Everard Stations to the west. Most of their meetings occur at Nonning Station which is centrally located on the mail road running west from the Eyre Highway at Iron Knob.
At Nonning there is an established gymkhana ground which is maintained by the community and used annually. There is tourist accommodation at Mount Ive Station on the mail road and at the recently proclaimed Paney Conservation Park in the southern Gawler Ranges about 50 km north of both Wudinna and Minnipa.
