History
Border Village sits on the Eyre Highway immediately adjacent the Western Australian border. It is effectively a roadhouse and travellers centre and together with similar facilities 180 km further east at Nullarbor was recognised by the Outback Areas Community Development Trust as a combined community progress association in 1996.
Border Village also provides some services to the 30-odd people living at Eucla, 13 km west in WA.
Special attractions
Both service centres adjoin the Nullarbor National Park with the Nullarbor Roadhouse providing a jump-off point for access through the Yalata lands to the Head of the Bight Marine Park.
Tourist services
The service centres provide seven-day petrol, supplies and some accommodation. At Border Village public access to the Internet is available.
